Week of June 4 and 5, 2018

Year End Family Potluck

There will be no meeting on June 4 and June 5 for all sections. Instead, we will have our annual year end family potluck on June 9 to celebrate the end of the Scouting Year 2017-2018. 7th Markham Scouting Family, this is your chance to say a HUGE “Thank You” to all your Scouters for all the hard work they have done for the Scouting Year. The details of the event are as follows:

Date:    Saturday, 09 June 2018
Time:   11:30 AM – 02:00 PM
Where: Rouge Valley Mennonite Church
              7452 Reesor Road, Markham

What to Bring:
We are requesting that you bring a dish (chicken, beef, or pasta) for about 5-8 people. Please bring your own plates, cups/mugs, cutleries, and serving utensils for your dish. To minimize garbage, we highly encourage families to bring reusable plates and cups.  The group committee will provide desserts and drinks.

Note:
We plan to have a water gun battle. Please bring water gun(s), towel and change of clothes. Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers – this is your chance to get your Scouters soaking wet.

REMINDER: Treetop Trekking Event is this Sunday

Time:          12:15 – 4:30 PM

Location: 
Treetop Trekking Stouffville, 3291 Stouffville Rd, Whitchurch-Stouffville, ON (inside Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area)
Note (1):   
Everyone MUST arrive by 12:30pm ready for the mandatory safety orientation before climbing at 1:00pm. Please read “What to Wear” and “What happens if it rains ?” sections in Treetop Trekking Safety Rules of the event that you registered in. You may bring simple snack and water.
Note (2):  You must be registered to one of the following activities:
Note:        (a)  Zip Line Aerial Game Treks – must be 55″ tall & 9 years old and up 
Note:        (b) Discovery Course + Treewalk Village – must be 45″ tall & 5 years old and up
Note:        (c) Treewalk Village Only – for anyone who can climb

  • Deadline for early registration is this Monday May 14th. To secure your child’s spot and avail of a $55 discount in registration fee, you must register your child on or before May 14. After said date, registration will be open to the public and registration is on a first come first serve basis.
  • An email with the registration details was sent last April 26, 2018

Week of April 30 and May 1, 2018

IMPORTANT: Registration for Scouting Year 2018-2019
  • Early registration will be open to all existing or returning members from May 1st to 14th. Parents or guardians can only register online and with the same group. Registering within the above dates will guarantee your child’s spot with the group/section and the fee will be $55 less than the regular registration fee.
  • After May 14th, we cannot guarantee your child’s spot with the group/section because registration will be open to the public and the fee will be higher.
  • An email with the fee details will be sent to all existing members by April 30, 2018.

REMINDER: For the remainder of the Scouting Year, all youths that have advanced or moved up to the next section can either attend their previous section or the new section that they moved up to.
