Remembrance Day Parade

Where:  Markham District Veterans Association, 7 Washington St, Markham, ON L3P 2R3
Note:     You can work on your Personal Achievement Badge (Canada and/or Community) and show support to our fellow veterans at the same time.  During the ceremony, you may be asked to help lay the Markham Scouts wreath.  For more details, see HERE.  Please also be aware of the road closure schedule.

Fall Camp

Thank you everyone for supporting Scouts Popcorn this year.  More information will be coming regarding Popcorn Pickup.

Christmas Giving – 7th Markham Scouters would like to invite everyone to participate in “Christmas Giving” challenge.  For the coming weeks until Christmas Potluck, we are collecting non-perishable food items for the Markham Food Bank.  A donation box will be setup by the school entrance. Thank you!

Santa Claus Parade – November 23th, 2019 – 10:30am-12pm –  Do you remember THIS MOMENT?  Can you recognize which beavers were on the float?  More exciting details will follow.

Scouts Appreciation Month – October – Legoland Discovery Centre
This is not a 7th Markham event. You may or may not find 7th Markham Scouters and youth there. If you bring your children there in Scout uniform, the youth admission is FREE as long as they are with a paying adult for $17. Enjoy!! See details HERE.

Note:         Scouts will attend a lion dance and king fu demonstration at Chung’s Academy of Martial Arts.  Please wear appropriate uniform to participate (active wear shirt instead of formal wear).

Note:         Cubs and new Scouts will attend Camping Prep Clinic.  They will learn Seven Principles of Leave No Trace.  Also they will be introduced with proper gears for biking, hiking and camping.  Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) will be giving 10% discount for all participants.  This discount is valid only on October 29, 2019.

Thank you – 13 Beavers, 17 Cubs, 16 Scouts, 1 Venturer, 16 Scouters and parents who participate in the Scouts Apple Day event.  We appreciated you stepping out from your comfort zone by sharing with people about your Scouting Adventures.

Popcorn Order Deadline – Popcorn coordinators will be available at the section meeting on October 21 (for Scouts and Venturers) and October 22 (for Beavers and Cubs) to collect all order forms and payment. If you are not able to submit your form and payment, please coordinate with Scouter Bryant (commissioner@7thmarkham.org) to schedule drop-off date on or before Friday, October 25, 2019 – the deadline.
